UKIP Bournemouth and Poole
Pam DonnellanThere is something rotten to the core about conservative controlled Bournemouth Council
Just as Rochdale are dumping Mouchel, Bournemouth council carries on regardless with no regard to local taxpayer's money. There needs to be a full investigation and audit of the council to get to the bottom of this. Updates - Here, here, here, here and here.
Stour Valley Footpath DorsetConservative 'Grazing Grab' ignores the voters
The councillors of 'not the conservative party' on the local Bournemouth council continue to bulldoze their way through local residents concerns with another land grab. Talbot Heath and the Stour valley are under threat. Nationally the Tories plan to wreak havoc on the green belt with new planning laws simply to build more houses to cope with the influx of EU migration. Cornwall council tops credit card splurgeCouncils go on credit card bender
Cornwall tops the list on squandering council taxpayers money on a massive spending splurge, with Bournemouth and Poole not far behind. Despite this the fake conservatives running Bournemouth council are planning council tax rises of 2.5% and have borrowed £45 million of your money adding to already high council tax bills. Voting conservative or not voting means we all have to fork out for pre-theatre dinner and drinks for 19 people and Mayoral Christmas cards.

Slades FarmConstruction of Slades farm cycle track began on the 13th of September in the face of considerable local opposition
Many of you will have received a letter from Bournemouth's Con-Dem council confirming that the cycle track construction will begin shortly. This is highly likely to follow the Imax and Surf reef as yet another white elephant wasting taxpayers money. The Con-Dems continue to splash the cash on vanity projects and high salaries despite the cuts facing us all.
Talbot Village ProtestTalbot Village gets a reprieve - but for how long?
Con-Dem controlled Poole council have been stopped from issuing a planning consent for now on the building of yet another residential development (shades of Canford heath?) on unspoilt land. You can contact and support the local residents' association on this issue here.
West Bournemouth MP Conor BurnsLocal MP Conor Burns gives away even more power to the European Union
The conservatives were so afraid of UKIP in Bournemouth West at the general election they sent out a letter from Norman Tebbit to the voters at the last minute proclaiming Conor Burns to be a staunch 'eurosceptic'. True to form the two-faced Tories will tell you anything to get elected then turn round and do the opposite once in power. Apart from a tiny handful most of the Tories joined with the other two parties and voted in favour of the EEAS (European External Action Service). Ever get the feeling you are being had by your political tribe? Update - Conor Burns agrees with President Herman van Rompuy and has voted in favour of European Union economic governance.
Michael TurnerEuropean extradition warrant claims another Briton
Local man Michael Turner has been snatched by the Serious Organised Crime Agency who handed him and his business partner Jason McGoldrick to the elite special forces from Budapest. They are now facing a long time in gaol before the case comes to trial. Michael's father said “My father, and his father before him, fought in two world wars to make sure this kind of thing couldn’t happen today. So when the secret police come here, knocking to take my son to eastern Europe to stand accused of charges of a ridiculous nature, how am I going to explain to my grandchildren that I allowed this to happen?".
Graham Watson, Liberal Democrat MEP for the South West wrote the legislation for the European Arrest Warrant and pushed it through the European Parliament. We have written to Graham Watson and you can read the exchange of emails here. Update - Mike and Jason are now back home having been released on bail.
Nothing to do with usBournemouth councillors and the EU dimension.
We wrote to every local councillor, (details below), asking if the EU affected their decision making:
'Dear Bournemouth Councillors,
As the most popular political website in Bournemouth we are keen to hear from local councillors for their views on local matters to keep our readers informed.
With over 70% of new UK law affecting local councils now originating from Brussels we were wondering if this affects local decision making when a conflict arises between the wishes of local constituents and mandates from Brussels?
Please let us know if you are happy with this state of affairs and we will publish your comments on the website.'

We followed this up with a reminder in case some were away or too busy at the time to give us an answer.....and not one of them has bothered to respond.
Make of this what you will.
Philip GloverA message of thanks from Philip Glover, UKIP's Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Bournemouth West
"I am delighted that UKIP came second nationally in the recent European Elections. May I express my thanks to all of you who voted UKIP and helped to send a message to the Labour Government that their broken promise to hold a referendum on the EU Constitution, renamed The Lisbon Treaty, will not be tolerated."
Vote UKIPEuropean Election vote results for the Bournemouth West and East constituencies.
These are the voting figures for Bournemouth: Conservative 12124 31.6% - UKIP 9875 25.8% - Lib/Dem 4739 12.4% - Greens 3183 8.3% - Labour 2708 7.1% - BNP 1624 4.2%. In the South West 2 UKIP MEPs were elected, (Trevor Colman and William Dartmouth), on a turnout of 38% which is slightly up from 2004 and Labour lost their only MEP in the West Country. 13 UKIP MEPS have been elected across the UK, (UKIP narrowly missed number 14 in the North West), which puts UKIP in second place overall in front of New Labour.
Gawain TowlerGawain Towler, UKIP activist from Dorset supports the Save the Vale and Silton Campaigns and slams Ecotricity for milking public subsidies

"Ecotricity just don't know when to give up. Wind farms are inefficient, massively subsidised and devastating to the local landscape. To have six massive turbines marching over the Vale would create enormous disturbance and for what? Turbines in general produce less than a third of the energy they claim due to the simple fact that the wind does not blow in the right way the right speed or at all for a majority of the time. Traditional electricity generation has to be maintained in order to cover for it.
Worse still are the contemptuous comments from Ecotricity Director Dale Vince. He obviously doesn't give a damn about local people. The way he dismisses their concerns is disgraceful. He demands that they be less selfish. Maybe he shouldn't be so greedy to pick up public subsidy". Update - Gawain has lambasted Robert Walters, the sitting Conservative MP for hypocrisy. "Bob Walters has to answer some pretty searching questions now that it has been revealed that the Tory Party is doing deals with Ecotricity".
Ecotricity is the firm that is planning to build a wind farm at Silton near Gillingham which is opposed by the vast majority of local inhabitants. Robert Walters has been prominent in opposing the farm. However the Conservative Party has set up a sponsorship program with the firm, part of its Affinity scheme that can be found on its website.
According to the firms's website Conservatives can, "WIN a year's supply of electricity from Ecotricity - worth £400 - simply by watching our stunning new time-lapse video of the construction of 3 wind turbines at Bristol Port and then answering the question below".
"So backing this firm is fine for fundraising for their elections, but local people will feel let down and abused by such naked double dealing", said Towler.
Gawain Towler first got involved in the campaign against the windfarm in early February.

Bournemouth West MP Conor BurnsLocal MP Conor Burns sides with the political class and ignores the will of the people on EU referendum vote
Bournemouth West's MP and fake eurosceptic Conor Burns teams ups with Robert Syms Conservative MP for Poole (a few years ago he had a petition in Poole High Street, demanding a referendum!) and Annette Brooke Liberal Democrat MP for Mid Dorset & North Poole and puts his career before country. Update - Getting caught out when he thought people weren't looking. Burns responds to the anger of the electorate.
Say no to wasteful, inefficient and costly Wind FarmsSay NO to Navitus Bay
UKIP opposes the proposed wind farm off the Dorset coast and will keep an eye on decisions and developments in Bournemouth Council. David Lucas, a UKIP member from Cornwall explains why we should stop the wind farms.

Bournemouth West MP Conor BurnsCriminal!
Bournemouth West MP Conor Burns (A.K.A. Mr Smiley) has voted to pour more taxpayers money down the drain on the backdoor bailout of Greece which every sane person knows is going to default. The next time you hear cries about lack of funding for the sick and elderly and state pensions going to pot ask this fake 'euro-sceptic conservative' who he actually represents? He, along with 274 MPs including local jobsworths Annette Brooke, Oliver Letwin, Robert Syms and Robert Walter each owe the taxpayer £36 million and must be held responsible for their decision.
Thumbs DownRed tape damaging businesses in Dorset
A survey has revealed the extent that red tape has hit employment levels in small firms throughout Dorset. Because of excessive bureaucracy 16 per cent have made job cuts, 39 per cent of these firms are not employing more people due to employee regulations and 45 per cent of sole traders with no workers decide not to become employers to avoid red tape altogether.
Alan WoodDoes the European Union (EU) affect local issues in Bournemouth?
You bet it does! And nearly all local issues, because the EU now make the laws on most issues affecting Local Government.
The European Union will ultimately run Britain by directives to Local Government. In fact it's happening already but the Government doesn't want you to know, and the other parties, being pro-EU, have kept remarkably quiet. The EU's full title is the European Union of Regions and Cities. Fancy most people not knowing that - not surprising because it's all being done quietly. It is intended that Regional Assemblies like the unelected Exeter Assembly, sub-Regional Groups centred on cities like Bristol, and sub-sub-Regional Groups centred on Towns like Devizes carry out the EU instructions. There are already such bodies in place called Strategic Partnerships and Community Planning Partnerships.
Britain's public services are being regionalised and reorganised. The Regional Assembly deals with the Regional Spatial Strategy which affects all local planning issues. The strategy covers policy matters like waste incinerators, windmills, and housing. The interesting point is that the Government has awarded itself the right to overrule all local objections. The Primary Care Trusts are centralising hospital treatment on large hospitals. The Courts Service has been reorganised, as has the Probation Service, the Police and the Fire and Ambulance services. Local objection to the cutting out of smaller hospitals has been ignored and only Police Regionalisation has been stalled. The EU working Time Directive is having a massive effect on hospital services because Doctors and Surgeons can only work limited hours. People like lorry drivers have had their hours cut and consequently their take-home pay. You may think that electing a Councillor will make a difference and that they will stop all the nonsense? Wrong. If your council is run by Liberal-Democrats, Conservatives or Labour they can make a difference? Wrong. They have to obey Government targets based on EU directives. They must set Council Tax within a Government limit and spend it on Government priorities. The worst point about Regionalised Local Government is that your vote doesn't make a difference. It doesn't matter who you vote for, the scope for local decision-making is almost negligible. Your local councillors will barely have any power to change things. A slight change of emphasis here and there. The EU directives, as followed by the Government and being implemented through Regional Local Government leave virtually no scope for change. The paid Officers drive through the Government's EU agenda with pretendy consultations; to paraphrase Billy Connolly. This is why you have bugs in your wheelie bins, your mail is now priced by size and weight and older youngsters who are short in stature must sit in child car seats.
And what about Council Tax?
Councils receive about two-thirds of their budget allocation from Government taxes like VAT, Income Tax, Corporation Tax and Inheritance Tax. The trouble is that they give £41m every day to the EU and are forced to implement costly EU directives plus Regionalisation. Not much left for local services!
So why vote for UKIP?
Because the other parties want to be in the EU, which means that things can only get worse. More Council Tax, local democracy replaced by government by bureaucrat - the EU way, with the 25 unelected Commissioners in Brussels like Peter Mandelson making the Directives which the Local Council Officers have to implement. Sounds a bit like the Soviet Union doesn't it? A vote for UKIP is a signal to government and the other parties that you want local democracy restored so that your local councillors do what you want, not what the EU wants. And that you want your taxes spent here, not on EU follies.
Alan Wood (A UKIP Councillor)
Post Office Closures
Post offices in Poole and Bournemouth continue to be shut. The reasons for this can be traced back to yet another E.U. directive which, (as usual), Whitehall has gold plated with the expected results. Our impotent politicians won't admit it, but there is nothing they can do about this.
Is this what you voted for?'Recycling'
The Tories are at one with the Lib/Lab/Con-sensus on 'green' issues and seem very happy with the costly recycling systems set up at the behest of EU waste directives. In trying to out-green each other they ignore the facts and have jumped onto another costly bandwagon with very little benefit. This provides a perfect excuse for the bureaucrats to extend their power over our lives
