Next time a leading councillor pleads poverty when trying to justify council
tax increases* remember how much they can afford in salaries and pensions
for the town hall fat cats. (*Cllr Alan Griffiths, leader of Christchurch
council blames tax increases on under-funding). The Taxpayers Alliance has

Butterfill
'standing down'
The Tory MP for Bournemouth West John Butterfill, will be
standing down at the next General Election to spend more time with his
family. Philip Glover, UKIP's PPC for the seat said "It's about time we had
not just a new MP, but a new party to represent Bournemouth West's
constituents at Westminster. UKIP can best fill that role as they are
unencumbered by outdated political thinking and will bring something new to
the table" |

Lib
Dems deny us a referendum
The West country has more
than its fair share of Liberal Democratic MPs many of whom abstained from
backing a referendum on the EU constitution under the orders of Nick Clegg.
The Lib Dems, like New Labour had promised to hold a referendum and now it
is left to the House of Lords to do the right thing and insist that
manifesto promises are kept. You can watch 'Calamity Clegg' trying to defend
the Lib Dem position on
UKIP TV. Updates - The
Sun says and the
Day of Shame. |

IMAX
and the Winter of our Discontent
In the Channel Four series 'Demolition', they
chose the most hated buildings in the UK. The IMAX building on Bournemouth
Seafront was short listed as one of the top three buildings that should
be demolished. Interestingly, this was the subject of our first poll on this
site, and an overwhelming 96.33% said it should be torn down. On top of this
another fiasco has come back to haunt the Lib Dems who broke one of their most
solemn
promises and had the Winter Gardens demolished. |
