David Hughes UKIP candidateQueens Park and Winton East By-Election results
UKIP came a respectable third place in Queens Park with David Hughes beating Labour into fourth place. The Lib Dem vote was way down compared to previous years. What makes this result even more remarkable is this is the first time that UKIP have fielded a candidate in this ward. Sam Whitt who stood only as a 'paper candidate' not unsurprisingly got only 51 votes in Winton East. With more funding coming on-stream this ward will have a proper UKIP campaign next time. Turnout was very low with 75% of people not bothering to vote.

Calamity CleggLib Dems deny us a referendum
The West country has more than its fair share of Liberal Democratic MPs many of whom abstained from backing a referendum on the EU constitution under the orders of Nick Clegg. Imax In BournemouthIMAX and the Winter of our Discontent
In the Channel Four series 'Demolition', they chose the most hated buildings in the UK. The IMAX building on Bournemouth Seafront was short listed as one of the top three buildings that should be demolished. Interestingly, this was the subject of our first poll on this site, and an overwhelming 96.33% said it should be torn down. On top of this another fiasco has come back to haunt the Lib Dems who broke one of their most solemn promises and had the Winter Gardens demolished.
