Queens Park and Winton East By-Election results UKIP came a respectable third place in Queens Park with David Hughes beating Labour into fourth place. The Lib Dem vote was way down compared to previous years. What makes this result even more remarkable is this is the first time that UKIP have fielded a candidate in this ward. Sam Whitt who stood only as a 'paper candidate' not unsurprisingly got only 51 votes in Winton East. With more funding coming on-stream this ward will have a proper UKIP campaign next time. Turnout was very low with 75% of people not bothering to vote.
